Vertical steel tanks VST are welded cylindrical structure for pressure tight storage of various non-aggressive, slightly aggressive and aggressive fluids, for example, light oils and heavy petroleum products, bitumen, diesel fuel and other fuels and lubricants, acids, alkalis, process water, food, etc.

In accordance with the requirements of the state standard GOST 31385-2016 "Vertical cylindrical steel tanks for petroleum products. General technical specifications " TD SARRZ supplies VST tanks with the following technical characteristics:

  • density of stored liquids - up to 1015 kg / m3
  • tank shell temperature - from -65°C to + 180°C
  • internal overpressure - no more than 2 kPa
  • relative vacuum in the gas space - no more than 0.25 kPa
  • seismicity of the operating site - up to 9 points

We offer vertical cylindrical tanks up to 50,000 m3 in volume, which can be used as:

  • fire tanks
  • storage tanks for light and dark petroleum oils, bitumen, alkalis, acids, etc.
  • hot water tanks
  • food storage tanks (stainless steel tanks)

All vertical tanks appear as a cylindrical shell, bottom, roof and / or pontoon. All metal structures have anti-corrosion protection, which is performed by ground, enamel or other substances by agreement with the Customer. The electrochemical (cathodic-anode) protection of metal structures from corrosion, which extends the tank run life, may be also provided.

Depending on the operating conditions, VST tanks are made of different steel grades: at operating temperature up to -40°C - of structural carbon steel St3sp5; at operating temperature up to -65°C - of low-alloy steel 09G2S.

Design of vertical tanks is carried out on the basis of their operating specifications, namely, equipment and thermal insulation load, hydrostatic and interior extra pressure, snow and wind loads, сlimatic region of construction site, earthquake load and other parameters specified in the Questionnaire.

The equipment configuration depends on the tank functionality, characteristics and operating conditions of working fluids, as well as industrial safety standards. Tanks can be supplied with a full set of process equipment, and separately without it.

Horizontal tanks RGS are used for storage of oil products, gasoline, bitumen, petroleum products, alcohols, acids and alkalis, industrial water (fire-fighting tanks), as well as food and other liquids with a volume up to 100 m3. In accordance with GOST 17032-2010 "Horizontal steel tanks for petroleum products. Specifications" they can be operated with any liquids with density up to 1300 kg / m3, of hazard categories 1, 2, 3, 4 and operating temperature from -65°C to + 90°C.

TD SARRZ supplies RGS in full factory readiness completed with the processing equipment and a set of auxiliary metal structures a ladder, walkover, caged access platform (for aboveground RGS), maintenance shaft (for underground RGS), supports. The configuration of the process equipment is designed on an individual order and depends on the properties of the stored product and operational requirements.

Depending on the operating conditions the horizontal tanks can be aboveground (RGSN) or underground (RGSP). The latter is more explosion- and flameproof, as well as saves area at the facility. The underground tanks are mostly often used as fuel (for example, at gas stations or in fuel supply systems of boiler houses) or as tanks for fire extinguishing water storage. Differences in the structural design of RGSN and RGSP is the need of reinforced corrosion protection of the underground tanks, which provides its high hydro-proofing. This protection is made of bitumen-polymeric mastic.

According to the design, underground horizontal tanks, as well as aboveground ones, can be manufactured double-walled, which allows to ensure maximum environmental safety in case of loss of containment of the inner wall. The distance between the inner and outer walls is be at least 4 mm, which is filled with inert gas or antifreeze.

It is possible to supply two- and multi-section horizontal tanks that allow you to store two or more liquids at the same time, depending on the number of compartments. Internal partition is made double, thereby ensuring the tightness of the compartments even if the integrity of one of them is violated.

Additionally, horizontal tanks can have thermal insulation to maintain the operating temperature of the viscous liquids. Traditional thermal insulation is made of rolled materials (for example, rock wool) and galvanized steel sheets, which sheathed the thermal insulation layer. It is also possible to supply steam-water or electric heating of the wall and thermal insulation in the form of a jacket. At the Customer's request, it is possible to cover the body of RGS with polyurethane foam, which has high adhesive properties, providing reliable anti-corrosion protection.

Manholes and nozzles are located in the body, through which the access inside the tank is provided, as well as the installation of technological equipment, filling and draining of the working fluid, liquid or gas for the interstitial or inter-compartment space.

The configuration of the process equipment, the number and diameter of the pipes, their location are selected on an individual order on the basis of the Questionnaire filled by the Customer. Among the main equipment can be listed: down-pump, level gauge, pressure gauge, safety and shut-off valves.

The underground horizontal tanks have a maintenance shaft that performs a protective function and remains aboveground for maintenance.

When selecting the material for the horizontal tank manufacture, the designed metal temperature is taken into account, as well as the minimum working product temperature or air temperature of the coldest five-day period.

To produce horizontal tanks RGS carbon steel St3sp or low alloy steel 09G2S are used. At the Customer's request we also produce RGS of stainless steel 12X18N10T.
