Vessels with mixing devices up to 100 m3 are used in various technological processes for mixing homogeneous and heterogeneous media, homogenization, emulsionizing, suspending and carrying out various chemical and technological reactions with liquids with a density of up to 2000 kg/m3.

Different liquids may act as working media, i.e. neutral liquid, as well as mildly and highly aggressive, corrosive, toxic and explosive fluids.

Vessels with mixers design

TD SARRZ carries out delivery of various structural designs of vertical vessels with mixers from manufacturer. The General view of the apparatus is a vertical cylindrical body with a mechanical mixing device installed agitator through the lid on the shaft.

The body of the vessels can be made all-welded or split. In the second case, the body is equipped with a split head, which can be removed to clean the inner surface or inspect the mixing device. Depending on the operating conditions and the vessel application, the bottoms and heads can be made of elliptical, conical or flat shapes. It is possible to use spherical bottoms on apparatus with a diameter of more than 1000 mm.

Thus, we supply the following structural designs of vessels with agitators:

  • vessels with elliptic bottom and an elliptical split lid
  • all-welded vessels with elliptic bottom and lid
  • vessels with a conical bottom, the apex angle of the cone 90° and elliptical split lid
  • all-welded vessels with conical bottom, the apex angle of the cone 90° and elliptical head
  • vessels with elliptic bottom and split flat lid
  • all-welded vessels with elliptic bottom and flat lid
  • vessels with conical bottom, angle at the top of the cone 120° and split flat lid
  • all-welded vessels with conical bottom, the apex angle of cone is 120° and flat lid

The support-legs or support-lugs are welded to the bottom of the body. The design of the supports depends on the volume of the vessel, the type of mixing process, as well as on the soil properties.

The upper is lid provided with  fittings and nozzles for the product input and output, for the equipment  installation: pressure gauge, safety valve, level gauge, etc. If the diameter of the vessel is more than 800 mm, the head is provided with a manhole.

Vertical  apparatus with mixing devices are supplied in full factory readiness. For transportation pad eyes are welded to the body.

Mechanical mixing devices

The design of the stirrers is calculated on the basis of the technical parameters of the working medium (viscosity, density, operating temperature), vessel application and the requirements of RD 26-01-90-85 "Mechanical mixing devices. Calculation method " to the hydrodynamic mixing mode.

In accordance with ATK 24.201.17-90 "Agitators. Types, parameters, design, basic dimensions and technical requirements" the vessels can be equipped with the following types of agitators:

  • blade
  • turbine
  • gate
  • anchor
  • spiral
  • ribbon-blade

If necessary, additional devices can be installed in the apparatus - bafflers, baffle plates and guide tubes, which exclude the possibility of funneling, separation and increase the intensity of the mixing process and heat-transfer surface.

To ensure sealing in the place of connection of the stirrer shaft and the body gland and mechanical seals are provided, the choice of which depends on the substance hazard category: for 1, 2 and 3 categories double mechanical seals are installed, for 4 category - single mechanical or gland.

Electric motors of mixing devices can be manufactured in explosion-proof or non-explosion-proof design depending on the degree of explosion and fire hazard of the working product.

Heating systems of apparatus with mixing devices

During operation of the apparatus at sub-zero temperature, in order to avoid cooling of the housing, as well as when working with viscous fluids, the apparatus with stirrers can be equipped with:

  • cylindrical jacket
  • half pipe jacket
  • built-in coil
  • external or internal electric heaters

As a heat-transfer medium industrial water, water steam, condensate or other high temperature fluid, such as thermal oil can be used.

Steel grades for the manufacture of vessels with mixing devices

The Trade House SARRZ supplies the apparatus made of various steel grades depending on the operating temperature and properties of the working fluids:

  • of carbon steel St3sp for operating temperature from -20°C to +200°C
  • of low-alloy steel 09G2S
  • of stainless steel 12X18N10T for operating temperature from -30°C to +250°C
  • of aluminum

The external and internal surfaces of the body are covered with corrosion-preventive compounds that prolong the service life of the vessel.
